Wrapping up the Summer

As the season arrived and was celebrated with all pomp, with people flaunting their breezy colorful summer wear, heading out of state for the holidays, and some making the best of what Goa's naturally beautiful sites have to offer, the time quickly ticked away and we now experience joyful bouts of rain that is a great relief from the hot sticky weather that has now reached its peak. Well, during the summer I too enjoyed getting out my breezy clothing and went on a picnic to one of Goa's most beautiful spots.

I always wanted to do a photo shoot of one of my closest friends, Ninotchka, and I finally got the chance to do so. As you can see she is gorgeously beautiful and that added a lot to my photographs. So we went around Panjim city for a day long photoshoot and managed to get some good shots and have alot of fun while doing so. We went about the styling based on two themes : "All white everything" and "Add that dash of Pink".

All White, everything.

We styled this outfit around Ninotchka's favourite white Maxi dress that was breezy and relaxed. An elegant white stone statement neckpiece, a dainty bracelete, ring and gold sandals with a pink sole completed the look. The look was cooling and fluid and perfect for a relaxed day strolling around the city. The all white theme also followed Ninotchka's love for the colour white and the styling matched her simple but elegant sense of style.

Add that dash of Pink.

This look surrounded the joy of Summer. We wanted this look to be fun and playful and we thought pastels, fluid silhouettes, and that dash of bright fuchsia pink is what the look called for. We paired a multi coloured pastel sleeveless top with a mustard yellow skirt. A fuchsia pink sling and gold strappy sandals with a fuchsia pink sole completed the look along with minimal jewellery.

Dissertation layout design

Hey guys!
So I know I haven't posted in quite a while but I was up to the neck with final submissions, and then a very tiring month long final examinations. I have finally completed my four years in the Goa College of Art. Today was my last day of college and I am sad that this awesome adventure is finally ending as well as totally excited about what is going to come next. This college has taught me so much and I have grown so much as an artist in these four years.

Well, I feel all the all-nighters and hard work payed off in making me feel very satisfied with what I have managed to achieve and complete in this past year and I now have a complete portfolio in hand.

One of the projects that I was very excited to do was my dissertation. I chose the topic, "The inspiration behind the idea. Where to draw the line?" because all these years I was very curious about the concept of inspiration, where it comes from and the concept of copying always disgusted me. Writing this dissertation taught me a lot about inspiration, its sources, what we should do when we are stuck for an idea and where should people draw the line when gaining inspiration from other artists works that leads to unintended plagiarism.

This was my very first editorial design - that I was very excited about too. The challenges of fitting the text right, breaking up the space, creating continuity along with variety.... I loved every bit of it! Once the art work was printed and I had my baby in my hands, I felt on top of the world! I had never designed as well as written something so vast before and the challenge was great!

At first, for the cover page I had thought of a photograph of a crumpled ball of paper in full zoom filling the whole page, but while clicking the photograph this visual came to mind and I felt it suited the topic of my dissertation as well.

I would love some feedback. Waiting to hear from you all!
